so nice they named it twice

Although my birthday is actually over a month away, my appreciably sneaky friends conspired to have a pre-birthday soiree for me over the weekend, and I was lead into its midst completely unaware. It seemed a little suspicious when everyone else brought dishes of food for a pot-luck, and I arrived contribution-less; but I was more embarrassed than dubious, feeling that I had simply failed to contribute to an urbane socialist dining experience, thus negatively affecting my standing amongst my supportive yet secretly censorious peers.

Turned out, the whole thing had been a ruse so they could spring a gift on me. Bastards.

Of course, the gift was The Best Gift Ever: a springtime trip to New York City; and being completely overwhelmed, I didn’t really know what to say. Thankfully, the card gave me a chance to deflect all the attention on me by uncovering the mystery behind loquacious but phonetically challenged cats.

I’d like to point out that even without a bucket full of booze we still managed to break the sofa before killing a carnival full of zombie mutants.

Yep. Still hardcore.
